ABOUT TCOS

Home kitchen counter with a stand mixer, hanging utensils and an orange Dutch oven on the stovetop

Food, family, and the stories simmering between them.

The kitchen is a wellspring of countless stories. Sharing a home-cooked meal with the people you love is one of the most essential parts of daily life. Around the table, we laugh, talk, admire, respect, and weave our lives together.

Born and raised in Korea in the 80s, I grew up surrounded by the deep culture of sharing a table. For my family, the rhythmic sound of chopping and simmering in the kitchen—often with just one or two people cooking—was the heartbeat of our home. Ending the day together with a warm meal helped us forget the day’s fatigue. I hope that comforting spirit reaches anyone who visits this space.

After marrying my British husband and having children, the kitchen welcomed me into a new chapter filled with fresh challenges—and a beautiful blend of two cultures under one roof. Suddenly, cooking wasn’t just about remembering my roots; it was also about building a shared table for a Korean-British family. I often found myself asking what to cook, how to cook it, and how to create something meaningful for the people I love. Even when I was tempted to take shortcuts, I always wanted to give my family something truly good. Yet so many times, I couldn’t remember the exact recipe I wanted to recreate.

That’s why I began writing everything down.

The notes I first kept simply to save my forgetful memory slowly grew into something worth sharing. I opened a YouTube channel and started filming the dishes I love from warm rice, side dishes, stews, and Korean comfort foods to a variety of international recipes I’ve learned along the way.

TCOS stands for “Two Cultures, One Spoonful.”

It reflects the life I live : Korean flavors, British family, and a home where two cultures meet at the table—one honest spoonful at a time.

Now, I’m ready to share it all.
